Key Responsibilities:

  1. Concept Development: Collaborate with clients or internal stakeholders to understand project requirements, objectives, and target audience. Brainstorm and develop creative design concepts that effectively communicate the desired message or brand identity.
  2. Graphic Design Creation: Create visually engaging designs for various mediums, including logos, brochures, flyers, posters, packaging, social media graphics, website elements, and other marketing collateral. Use design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign to produce high-quality designs.
  3. Branding and Identity: Develop and maintain brand identity guidelines, ensuring consistency across all design materials. Create brand assets, such as logos, colour schemes, typography, and visual elements, that accurately represent the brand’s values and personality.
  4. Layout and Composition: Design layouts and compositions for print and digital materials, considering factors such as balance, hierarchy, colour schemes, typography, and imagery. Ensure visual harmony and readability in all design deliverables.
  5. Image Editing and Manipulation: Edit and enhance images using graphic editing software. Retouch photos, adjust colour and lighting, and crop images as needed to achieve the desired visual impact.
  6. Typography and Visual Elements: Select appropriate fonts, typography styles, and visual elements to create visually appealing and impactful designs. Ensure readability and effective communication of information through typographic choices.
  7. Print Production: Prepare print-ready files, ensuring correct file formats, colour modes, resolutions, and bleeds. Collaborate with print vendors to ensure accurate and high-quality printing of design materials.
  8. Digital Design: Create designs for digital platforms, including websites, social media, email marketing, and online advertising. Optimize designs for various screen sizes and platforms, considering user experience (UX) and interaction design principles.
  9. Collaborative Communication: Work closely with clients, project managers, and other team members to gather feedback, incorporate changes, and ensure the timely delivery of design projects. Effectively communicate design ideas, rationales, and concepts to stakeholders.
  10. Industry Trends and Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest graphic design trends, techniques, and software advancements. Continuously enhance skills and knowledge through self-learning, attending workshops, or participating in design-related communities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a Graphic Designer or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or equivalent tools.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects and styles.
  • Solid understanding of design principles, typography, colour theory, and layout composition.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to generate innovative design concepts.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality designs within deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of printing processes, file preparation, and print production standards.
  • Familiarity with digital design principles, including UX and responsive design.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
